Officially launched at NAMM 2011, the APX500II upgrades and improves the highly popular Yamaha APX500.
The Yamaha APX range has undergone a complete overhaul centring on completely new electronics where the previously superb pickup and preamp combination has been completely upgraded to meet the exacting demands of the latest stage and studio sound engineering. The System 55T preamp is fitted with an onboard tuner for convenience making tuning up between songs a breeze.
Updated cosmetics, such as ivory binding and an upgraded headstock finish, complete the upgrade whilst retaining everything that made the original APX500 a best-seller for over 20 years.
The APX500II delivers the sound of a true acoustic, but features a small body making it a much more manageable guitar than a traditional dreadnought design. This characteristic, along with superb feel and performance, delivers a classic tone both onstage and backstage and will guarantee the continued success of the range.
The APX500II’s thin-line body combines incredible comfort, easy top-fret access and a sound perfectly suited to on-stage use with bright, clear mids, balanced highs and controlled lows. Specially designed non-scalloped X-type bracing allows the guitar’s top to sing and maximizes the resonance of the unique body shape for a full, natural tone. With dynamics, sensitivity and clarity built into the design from day one, the APX500II is a guitar not to be underestimated!
